Fly Casting Instruction |
 |
 |
Fly fishing can be both extremely challenging and incredibly rewarding. It is a sport of serenity and connectivity, where the playing field is as much in the mind as it is on the stream or ocean. At the very heart of it all is the cast itself.
If you are a beginner or an experienced freshwater fly fisher about to foray into the salt, we strongly encourage you to seek out a credible instructor and take some time out to focus on fly casting off the water. Time spent improving your casting on dry land will greatly increase your ability to catch fish and add greatly to your enjoyment and appreciation of this sublime sport.
Our on and off the water instruction allows you to see how its done in real time. The setting will be very similar to what you will encounter while actually trying to catch a fish. This is set up so you will have a more solid base of understanding about the mechanics of the cast and the follow through for a proper presentation. Once this addiction takes hold you may wish to start tying your own flies, for this we offer fly tying instruction as well.
My goal as an instructor is to teach you the physics and mechanics of fly casting and how to analyze your cast so that you can continue to improve when our time together is over. |

I offer one day, two day classes and a one hour refresher. The classes are separated into a two part format. The first part is geared toward the beginning fly angler and will cover everything from casting theory to putting together a balanced fly fishing outfit and all necessary equipment needed for a successful trip on the water. The second part will cover more advanced techniques like the double haul and dealing with different on the water scenarios such as dealing with wind and casting the fly around obstructions.
However you slice it, you will be getting years of experience that will help you be a more effective and productive fly angler that will ensure your fly fishing pleasure for many years to come. |
